LIFE Waste2Coag coordination consortium meeting in November 2025

On 12 November 2025, the LIFE Waste2Coag consortium met online to discuss the latest achievements and upcoming next steps for the last six months of the project.

Partners provided an update on the progress of the different project Actions and discussed the forthcoming engagement activities planned for 2026.

Some key highlights included:

  • Global Omnium is completing the analysis of the results from the ELS trial in Gandia where Al-based coagulants were used to remove phosphorus in a municipal WWTP. 
  • The ELS prototype, which is now in Wulpen for the next demonstration study in a municipal WWTP, is going to be commissioned in the next few weeks by Aquafin with Global Omnium support.
  • Prospective work on the Life Cycle Assessment of the Wulpen case study was introduced by AIDIMME.
  • Isle Utilities in collaboration with the consortium partners are planning and organising the second and final Innovation Workshop of the project, focused on the municipal application of the ELS technology.
